The vision for a healthy and sustainable new city district in Utrecht is becoming a reality, one step at a time. Last week, the Municipal Council of Utrecht officially adopted the "Inrichtingsplan Openbare Ruimte Cartesius", marking an important milestone in the development of Cartesius. Commissioned by the Cartesius Consortium (MRP and Ballast Nedam Development), urban architect Mecanoo developed the plan in close collaboration with the City of Utrecht. It establishes the requirements and preconditions for the further design of public spaces, ensuring that Cartesius continues to evolve as a future-proof, people-centered urban district.
